I edited the tone and exposure of my photographs using adobe photoshop cs4, they look perfect when opened in photoshop, but when i open them in windows photo viewer they appear a little dark then they do in photoshop.

maybe you opened the original file, and changed the name of the one you were working on.

  1. The problem is probably you used different type of color management. Do you used RGB or CMYK editing it? You might want to check about which color managment you are using in PS and your Windows monitor setting.

  2. You need to calibrate your monitor settings with your photoshop settings. On the Start button click on control panel, then adobe gamma (which i think came with photoshop and you should have). it will run you through a series of steps to make sure your images look the same in photoshop as they do on your computer.

  3. Windows photo viewer uses a different colour space, so your perfectly edited photos from photoshop won’t look right. I’m afraid I can’t remember what the solution is (if one even exists). Why not set up a Flickr account and view your photos there?
