Question by laura: Photoshop – can’t use any tools on my new layer apart from the paint brush, using a RAW converted image?
This is my first time using a RAW file. I can make changes on the background layer, but not the new layer. Any ideas?
Answer by Nahum Most of Photoshop’s tools only work at certain ‘bit depths’. 8 bits per channel is the most common, and is used by JPEG and PNG graphics. However, raw format images use whatever bit depth is available on the camera. (My Nikon D40X for example makes 14bpc images.)
You might want to make a copy of your image—after applying all the high-definition edits you wish to make—and then convert it to 8 bit color mode (Image > Mode > 8 bits per channel) to gain access to your other tools and layers. Keep in mind that the raw format image has more flexibility for editing, and all this flexibility is lost when converting down to 8 bpc.
Question by Vishnu Vishak: how can I put a URL for my website which I’m creating using dreamweaver cs4?
I’m making a website using dreamweaver cs4 and I’m in the middle of the creating process. But unfortunately I don’t know how to put a URL for that page so that it could be accessible to anyone in the world through internet. Please help me.
Answer by David M You need a web host supporting dreamweaver. Just refer to:
As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex: www.yahoo.com). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.
If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.
As an experienced webmaster I recommend BH web hosting which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.
You can reach reviews about this web hosting provider and its latest DISCOUNT COUPONS at:
Only $ 3.95 /month (with discount coupon).
* This service was awarded the “Best Web Hosting OF The Year”.
* If you sign up for this service you will have $ 75 credits to advertise your website with the google & yahoo search engines for free!

Question by Paloma Barriga Olarte: How can I add subtitles to a video using Premiere CS4?
I have a video and I’d like to know if it’s possible to add subtitles directly with Prmiere CS4 or if I need any other software. Thank you all!!!
Answer by Bonce Bonce Though it would be tedius, you can do subtitles using the Titler:
The only other option within Premiere would be to use a third party plugin, likely expensive like eztitles.com
However, it is usual to do the subtitles as part of DVD authoring. If you have Adobe Encore, that would be easier. Or you could generate the subtitle data (.SRT, etc.), e.g. with Subtitle Workshop
though you’d need to render/encode with another program if you want ‘burned in’ subtitles.
I would avoid rendering as ‘burned in’ unless stricly necessary – much better as DVD or SRT (youtube and nearly all media players render SRT).
Question by TBaT: How do I keep the opacity (ie: 25%) the same when using brushes in Photoshop CS2.?
Say I start painting on the layer mask with 25% opacity and 100% flow and then release my mouse button to move somewhere else When I reclick it seems to double the opacity if I overlap an area that Has already been painted. I want it to just stay at one opacity no matter how many times I release my mouse or overlap. Is this even possible. It seems no matter how much I play with the flow or opacity I cant fix it.
Answer by giyoo m there is no way to avoid overlapping, bcoz itz transparent.

Question by LyssaMonet: HELP! When I download free photoshop brushes and extract them using Winrar, they turn into Adobe Reader9 files?
Answer by Alex O I can figure out two reasons for this:
1. Reader uses the same file extension name therefore is used by Reader too. This is no problem, just copy the files in your PS folder and run them through Photoshop.
2. The files are fake.
