I use the EXtract interface in CS3 can you tell me if the extract filter is still available in CS4 please?

you have to install them into photoshop brushes, the small square thingy (made out of three small lines) on the top right of the brushes window, click on it and click on load brushes

The Photoshop toolbar for Mac from PS7 to CS3 was shiny and took on the “Aqua” user interface of the Mac. Now, the toolbar is more similar to the Windows version. Why would they make the toolbar look more bland now?

It’s not necessarily any kind of brush, and the ad may not have used Photoshop at all.

I can figure out two reasons for this:
1. Reader uses the same file extension name therefore is used by Reader too. This is no problem, just copy the files in your PS folder and run them through Photoshop.
2. The files are fake.

I haven’t seen that feature in photoshop or CS. I usually design my art in photoshop and save it as a png file and open it in Paint Shop Pro which the feature you are referring to is available. I edited the tone and exposure of my photographs using adobe photoshop cs4, they look perfect when opened in photoshop, but when i open them in windows photo viewer they appear a little dark then they do in photoshop.

maybe you opened the original file, and changed the name of the one you were working on.

Photoshop brushes have many uses. Some brushes can actually be used as stamps. Brushes come in all shapes and sizes and can be used for any PS project.
To install brushes, you have to locate the brush folder, which is usually “Main Drive letter”>program files> adobe photoshop>presets>brushes.
When you download brushes, they are in a format with an extension of .abr. You copy and paste or drag & drop the .abr files to the brushes folder. After that, they are installed.
Be warned though, too many brushes will make a lot of them unseen in the brush selector. So to fix that create a new folder just for new brushes and point the brush chooser to the brushes you want when you want.
