How do you block Photoshop from automatically loading custom brushes? (Slow loading time).?

Question by CinnaBun: How do you block Photoshop from automatically loading custom brushes? (Slow loading time).?
Every time I try to load Photoshop CS3 (I’m on a Mac), it takes several minutes or more to get past the ‘loading brushes’ stage. I was wondering if there was a way to stop Photoshop from loading ALL of my brushes every single time it opens. I was thinking of deleting all of my brushes from the presets and then loading the ones I need manually, but I don’t know where the original files are, if they’re even still on my computer.
I was also wondering if there’s a program or something that lets you manage Photoshop brushes better (previews, loading them…etc) both in and out of Photoshop?
Thanks in advance! 😀

♦ Open the Brushes list
♦ Click the sideways triangle and choose Preset Manager
♦ Select the brushes (hold CTRL for multiple) that you don’t want to load
♦ Click the Delete Button
♦ Click the Done Button

The next time you open Photoshop, the deleted brushes won’t load.

In General Photoshop is a very memory consuming program requiring a lot of memory to run compared to most other programs. Since it was running fine at first I presume you need to clean your PC. maybe try running a defrag and removing unnecessary files.

Play back in Premiere pro CS4 is really slow and hard to edit , how come?

Question by Oily skyes: Play back in Premiere pro CS4 is really slow and hard to edit , how come?
I try to edit in Premiere Pro CS4 but i can’t because the play back is really slow. I have a Macbook Pro core duo with 8 GBs of ram. I watch videos on youtube of people working with this program and they don’t have no delay at all. I have lowered the quality of my footage but that don’t help at all. Some one said its because i use the original file of the camera? what the proper way of doing it?

Premiere uses the Hard Drive as virtual memory to do it’s work what it’s looking for is a contiguous space if you could use an external HD connected to your laptop as the “Scratch Disk” this might be your problem.

Without knowing your full computer specs, the input settings and your out source I can’t give you a definitive answer. Yet using Premiere as much as I have that was our biggest one.

Also most of the Editors I know like using FCP on laptops as it can get away with the Scratch Disk problem.

Photoshop CS4 started running too slow on my computer?

I have a laptop, 4gb RAM with plenty of free space and Photoshop CS4 installed. It’s always ran smoothly until today. I have made no changes, however, PS started running very slow when brushing, even when I have no other programs open, and when I’m working on a small file.

On Performance settings, I allow Photoshop to use 80% of my RAM and as I said I have no other programs open. So what could be causing this?
