Q&A: How to restore Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 settings to default?

Question by Darmok: How to restore Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 settings to default?
I’m currently editing a video on Premiere Pro CS4 but I’ve somehow accidentally changed the settings for a particular feature. When you have clips on the timeline and youre putting them next to each other, when one reaches the other usually a little line appears between the clips to show you that theyre right next to each other, and perfectly alligned (one not overlapping the other etc.) for some reason this is now gone, and its quite annoying. Does anybody know how to fix this? Thanks in advance

From now on, just use the Ripple Delete. It closes those spaces for you. No need to drag. Just right-click in the space. To reset your settings, you can delete the Preferences folder. If I recall, it’s in My Documents>Adobe>Premiere Pro>Prefs

I must have done some things in photoshop that I can’t seem to fix. So the only thing I can think of is either reinstalling. But before I do Is there any way to just revert to the default settings so I don’t have the go through the trouble in a reinstall
I should probably mention I use a mac. :0

Here is how:

1. First, hold down all three Ctrl+Alt+Shift buttons
2. Now “while keeping those button held,” simply open Photoshop or a file that opens with Photoshop
3. As Photoshop loads, you should get a prompt asking if you would like to “delete the Photoshop settings file”, Click yes.
You should now have a fresh slate with all of the settings returned to their default.

How do you change the settings of the eyedropper tool in Photoshop CS4?

Question by ChassyGirl: How do you change the settings of the eyedropper tool in Photoshop CS4?
In all of the tutorials I watch, when the eyedropper tool is used, it replaces the foreground color. On my version of Photoshop, the eyedropper replaces the background color, and I have to go through the step of switching the foreground and background and it’s a real hassle for when I’m blending colors. If its possible, how can I change it so that the eyedropper changes the FOREGROUND color instead of the background color?

Answer:

Answer by Robin
Make sure that you’re not touching the Option key (alt on a PC) when you use the eyedropper tool.

Since you can get the eyedropper when using the Paintbrush by holding down the Option (or alt) key, a lot of people have a kind of reflex to reach for that key when they use the Eyedropper.

But, if you have the actual Eyedropper tool, holding down Option (alt) will cause it to put the sampled color in the background swatch, not the foreground.

When you have your smudge tool selected you can bring up your brushes panel and make changes just like when you’re using other tools. Go to Window > Brushes, or press F5 to bring up the menu.

Question by Poot: How do I change brush settings in Photoshop CS5?
Settings such as Brush fading. Does that depend on the brush?

You can set the brush to “Simulate Pressure” if you have a tablet. Or you can use the Airbrush setting which makes darker and darker colors the more you stroke.

Q&A: Why do my brush settings keep resetting in photoshop?

Question by acbdefg: Why do my brush settings keep resetting in photoshop?
I have my photoshop hooked up with my computer tablet, and I set my brush settings to “pen pressure”, and it works perfectly fine. However, every time i change my brush size or brush, it resets back to the normal setting with no pen pressure. How can i make the pen pressure setting become a default setting, so i dont have to go to my brush settings to change it back to pen pressure every time i change my brush or brush size? I have cs3 btw.

Answer by Nahum
CS3 lets you save brush settings:

There are also some preset brushes that already have pen pressure set, along with others that use other tablet settings.

What are the settings in photoshop cs3 so that I can make a water brush?

Question by Kuchiki San: What are the settings in photoshop cs3 so that I can make a water brush?
well I found this awesome tutorial in deviantart and can’t find it any more but it basically showed you how to make a set the brush settings in photoshop so that when you are drawing it looks like you watercoloring. I remember that the brush would change colors depending on the pressure that you used with the pen pressure “tablet”

I don’t remember what the settings were so please help.

I do remember that I either changed the “color dynamics” or “other dynamics”

thanks

Answer by P&G
Other Dynamics > Opacity Jitter > Control = Pen Pressure
It is also noteworthy that Photoshop comes with additional brush sets that aren’t automatically loaded. One of those sets is called Wet Media Brushes and it contains several Watercolor brushes.
To load them, click the downward facing triangle on the Brushes palette and select Wet Media Brushes from the resulting context menu.

My photoshop CS3 isn’t working? I’m sure its just got something to do with the settings. PLEASE HELP!!?

Well,
I recently got it and I’m not sure how to use it properly. The table on the left hand side where are the tools are working fine. Then I go off to do another thing on my computer, I come back and the only thing that is working is the hand tool? I click on the other tools and for example the healing brush, I put it onto the picture and only the hand tool symbol appears!

Please help
Thanks
