Question by Nirmala: Why is it that some thing as expensive as Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 can only work in a screen DPI of 96 ?
I paid big money and bought the CS4 Adobe suite and now find that the program only supports a screen DPI of 96 . Any higher, and the icons on the screen are clipped. Surely Adobe should have found out this fault before releasing such a professional program to the markert?
Answer by Windowphobe “DPI” doesn’t actually exist on screen: there are pixels only. And Windows, for some reason, considers that one logical inch on the screen equals 96 pixels. (Apple for many years used 72.)
If you need higher-res graphics, Adobe will happily direct you to Photoshop.
Question by Kaitlin: How do I put my brushes on the side of my screen in Photoshop CS?
I want the brushes eaiser to acess and have them on the side with layers, color, navigator, etc.. When I click the window tab I try to check mark the brushes but I must not know how?
Answer by William You don’t say which version of Photoshop CS you have. On CS3 click on workspace at the right of the screen, scroll down and click on brushes. On CS4 click on painting. Probably the best thing to do is find a really basic tutorial on the interface.

Question by lilboiibubblez: (In photoshop) How do I use the screen brush mode and have it not affect the line art?
When using screen brush mode in photoshop I have no problems using it on the layer the flatted colours are on set to multiply but when using it on a a new layer on normal it lightens the line art too. Too try and fix the problem I put the layer on multiply but then screen mode darkens the flatted colours instead of lightening them.
Is there a way to use screen brush mode and not lighten the line art or darken the flats on a new layer set on multiply?
Answer by MOZ Simple!
Duplicate your line art layer, and set it above your other layers, so that you are painting the multiply layer with screen brush mode beneath the line art.
Right now, when i use some tools like the brush/eraser/pencil, the screen only shows a cursor on my screen… just a small cross. I want it to show the actual brush size (e.g. a big circle) How can I do this? Where is it in the menu? What is the shortcut key to change this?
I think I sometimes accidentally press the shortcut key (whatever it is)… sometimes it’s in “cursor mode”, sometimes its in “actual size mode”. It really bothers me. I’ve tried different combinations of keys… and tried to look for it in the menus. I can’t figure it out. I’m getting really frustrated. Can anyone help out?
BTW, I’m using adobe photoshop cs4, if that makes any difference. Thank you.
This is for a Christmas present. I’m trying to add artistic brush filters to a photo. When I open filters, I can apply them, but can’t save them. that part of the screen is out of view and no way to get over to it to save. All I can do is hit Esc and return to the workspace.
Can anyone please help? I need to print this photo for a frame-a gift for tonight. I can’t show up with an empty frame.
