Question by [katelyn]: how do you download and save adobe photoshop brushes from the internet ; so that you can use them?
please help… i really want to use this cute brush i found.. but dont know how to save!
detailed way would be good 🙂
Answer by Geo. I
This depends on how the brush has been loaded onto the webpage you’ve found.
As a general rule, brush files for Photoshop normally have the extension .abr, but if the brush file is of any appreciable size, you may find it’s been mounted as a ZIP or RAR file. In that case, you’ll need something like WinRAR to open the file you download from the web, and then load the abr file within that archive into C:\Photoshop\Brushes\ directory.
If you find the file has any OTHER extension than abr, then the file will need to be converted from that format onto the abr format. This is the ONLY format which Photoshop will recognise.
If you’re still having problems, feel free to contact me.
Hope This of Help

Question by Danny.: How do i save a font i customized in photoshop cs4?
You know when you change the character of a font in photoshop?
How do i save it like that so i can use it in other programs?
please and thanks =]
Answer by Nahum
I don’t think Photoshop can alter font files, unless it’s something new they added.
Normally, you need a font design program. I don’t know of any good free ones, but I’ve used FontCreator, which has a 30-day trial.
If you’re going to alter an existing font, make sure you save it as a copy!

Question by Jonatha: How can i save a picture i edited on photoshop CS4 to my computer?
I edited the picture & save it, but everytime i open it, it opens up with photoshop?
I wanted to edit it a little more using Picnik, but it says the picture isnt there! Helpp Me.
Answer by iDesign71
It is most likely saved in .psd format which only Photoshop can read. Try saving it from Photoshop in a format compatible with Picnik – I don’t use this myself, but I’d imagine it would open a jpg or similar format without any problem.
Question by Luna: Does Photoshop CS4 require you to manually create alpha channels to save clear images?
I use 7.0 and it automatically saves images as you make them transparent or opaque. I have never had to create an alpha channel because it already does it. But when I tried demos of the newer versions of photoshop, instead of saving the TGA image as clear or opaque, it just makes the checkered areas solid white.
Does anyone know why? Did they remove this feature from the newer versions?
Answer by Joe-Devola
I’m not sure about TGA’s but you could save it as a gif or png.
File > Save for Web (make sure transparency is checked)

Question by Family W: how do i save a illustrator cs4 file to illustrator cs file?
I have an adobe illustrator cs4 file and i want to send it to another person who has adobe illustrator cs, however when he tries to open it, it was made in a newer version. How can i save the .eps in cs4 to work in cs?
Answer by Pikeface
I’m doing this through cs3, but it should apply to cs4.
A new window should open giving you the .eps options. At the very top it should say Version: Illustrator CS4 EPS, or something similar. You should be able to click the drop down menu and select Illustrator CS.
That way he should be able to open it.

Yes, CS4 .psd file format should be back-compatible. You should have no problems opening it up in CS3.
