Question by Chris Hendricks: Can someone tell me why when I add audio to After effects CS4, it doesn’t play in a preview?
I import an audio file into After Effects CS4, drag it down into the timeline, hit the preview button in the top right corner. Nothing happens, no sound at all. Is there some setting i have to active for it to work?
Answer by John Yaya
Did you do a RAM preview? It might help to press the 0 key on your number pad. After it renders press 0 again and it will play the rendered portion.
Also, you can preview just the audio by pressing the “.” key on the number pad.
If it still doesn’t play, there may be a problem with the actual audio file.
Question by Oily skyes: Play back in Premiere pro CS4 is really slow and hard to edit , how come?
I try to edit in Premiere Pro CS4 but i can’t because the play back is really slow. I have a Macbook Pro core duo with 8 GBs of ram. I watch videos on youtube of people working with this program and they don’t have no delay at all. I have lowered the quality of my footage but that don’t help at all. Some one said its because i use the original file of the camera? what the proper way of doing it?

Premiere uses the Hard Drive as virtual memory to do it’s work what it’s looking for is a contiguous space if you could use an external HD connected to your laptop as the “Scratch Disk” this might be your problem.
Without knowing your full computer specs, the input settings and your out source I can’t give you a definitive answer. Yet using Premiere as much as I have that was our biggest one.
Also most of the Editors I know like using FCP on laptops as it can get away with the Scratch Disk problem.
Question by Rhys P: How do i add a music player to a website to play mp3s in Dreamweaver CS4?
A local band has asked me to design a website for them, they would like it to have a music player where you can select the track you want to play and click the play button and the music will play, i have never used anything like this before but would like to learn. im using dreamweaver cs4 to design the website and have the music tracks stored as mp3s waiting to be added.

If you find that too difficult to implement you might want to look at http://www.flashmp3player.org/download.html
However it does have links back to their website.
I should add that both of these are dependent on the user having flash installed, but both fail gracefully if they do not.
