Question by OKwithme: What is the 64-bit feature in Photoshop CS4/CS5 used for?
I currently have Photoshop CS4 for Mac and was wondering if it’s worth upgrading to CS5 just because of the 64-bit feature. I create digital art.

A 64 bit version gets, in theory, better/faster performance than a 32 bit version. It also allows the program to access more than 4 gigs of memory (only if your system has more than 4 gigs of memory). This of course is only useful if you’re dealing with really, really, really large and intensive files.
If you’re looking to get CS5, I’d do it for the other features, not because of the 64bit capabilities. But it’s really up to you.

Question by Luther L: Is there a color to alpha feature in Photoshop CS4?
I’m aware that there is an option in GIMP to choose a certain color, and then convert that color to transparency. Is there a similar feature in Adobe Photoshop CS4?
Answer by P&G
You would use the Select > Color Range feature. Then hide the pixels in the resulting selection using a Layer Mask. You could just delete them instead but the Layer Mask is easier to tweak.

Question by j1 projectz: Is there a feature in Photoshop CS4 that is similar to this in PS 7?
In Photoshop 7, I worked pretty fast and enjoyed selecting a single layer by holding down the Control button and clicking the layer. This creates the “moving ants” around whatever is in that layer. I liked this feature.
Unfortunately it doesn’t work this way in CS4.
Or does it? Does anyone know how to do it?
Thanks in advance
Answer by Kyp
Shift + Ctrl + Alt + click on the layer’s thumb.

I’m trying to get some brushes following the dynamics of the image below. I have a tablet; well…my laptop IS the tablet. I can’t get the tablet function to work with adobe to where I have access to those brushes. Anyone have any ideas?
Im trying to find a program that I can use to do frame by frame editing. I would like to be able to use a tool such as photoshop’s healing brush or clone stamp to remove blemishes for each frame of video. I basically would like to be able to edit each frame of video as if it were a jpeg in photoshop. Does something like that exist or does someone have a simple solution to perform this task?
Thanks a lot
