Question by experincso: How do I change a Photoshop CS4 photo into my desktop wallpaper?
I made a text picture of fire text of my name and I want to put that picture as my desktop wallpaper. But how do I do that?
Answer by Thirteen.
You would have to save your creation as either a .GIF file or a .PNG file on your desktop (or anywhere else you would like.) I would suggest a .PNG file because you will have much better image quality as a .PNG file than a .GIF file. After that, just locate the file you saved right click on it once and you will find an option to set this as desktop background.
Question by T¬R: Help! Can’t change brush spacing in photoshop!?
Using photoshop elements 4.0, I can’t change brush spacing- the setting is simply greyed out. I need it to be very low so that i can draw complete lines with my tablet! Any ideas?
I reset the tools, and now it works. weird
Answer by Mujer Alta
I’ve never experienced this problem. All I can think of is to try a couple of other brush tips and see if the spacing is still greyed out. I launched PSE 4 and, using one of the Default Brushes, changed a bunch of things on the Options Bar to see if any of them greyed out the Spacing slider but none did. Then I selected some specialty brushes and regular brushes and none of them greyed out the Spacing slider. The Spacing slider was always available. About all I can recommend is to click on the brush icon on the far left side of the Options Bar and click on Reset This Tool.

Perhaps you are painting on a layer mask, rather than on a painting layer?
Maybe the blending mode of the brush or of the layer is wrong.
Question by OKwithme: Why would they change the look of the toolbar in Photoshop CS4 for Mac?
The Photoshop toolbar for Mac from PS7 to CS3 was shiny and took on the “Aqua” user interface of the Mac. Now, the toolbar is more similar to the Windows version. Why would they make the toolbar look more bland now?

Question by ♥♪R.I.P Michael Jackson <33 ♫: How to change transparent layers in photoshop CS4?
Well i make a new layer and its like a checkerboard, and i cant get it back to normal. I have tried resetting photoshop etc.I don’tknow how it got like that it just suddenly happened when i created a new layer. So how do i makemy layer normal instead of transparent? Thanks
Answer by sibbi
I’m not quite sure I understad you, a new layer in photoshop is always transparent until you put something in it. If you mean that you see the checkerboard through a picture layer press 0 to see the layer at 100% opacity (read: not see-trough)
Question by ChassyGirl: How do you change the settings of the eyedropper tool in Photoshop CS4?
In all of the tutorials I watch, when the eyedropper tool is used, it replaces the foreground color. On my version of Photoshop, the eyedropper replaces the background color, and I have to go through the step of switching the foreground and background and it’s a real hassle for when I’m blending colors. If its possible, how can I change it so that the eyedropper changes the FOREGROUND color instead of the background color?
Answer by Robin
Make sure that you’re not touching the Option key (alt on a PC) when you use the eyedropper tool.
Since you can get the eyedropper when using the Paintbrush by holding down the Option (or alt) key, a lot of people have a kind of reflex to reach for that key when they use the Eyedropper.
But, if you have the actual Eyedropper tool, holding down Option (alt) will cause it to put the sampled color in the background swatch, not the foreground.
