Question by Andrew: How do I keep Flash cs4 from recognizing that my serial number isn’t valid?
A friend of mine let me borrow Flash cs4 for my class, however it expires after 30 days. I keep finding valid cs4 serial numbers online, but the program contacts adobe and finds out that it isn’t valid. I read that I should put up a firewall in order to keep the program from contacting adobe. How do I do this??

What’s the equivalent of the change to target brush in Photoshop? From what I know, the Change to Target Brush is from PSP(Paint Shop Pro), and I’m wondering if it has an equivalent in Photoshop CS. If so, what is it? Thanks for your help! 😀

I’ve never used Paint Shop Pro and I’m not sure at all because there is nothing called that in Photoshop, but it sounds like it could be the clone tool in Photoshop. The clone tool, allows you to select target pixels then paint them elsewhere on the image.

I don’t want to purchase Photoshop CS5 yet because it just came out and might be too expensive, I tried the trial already and I want to compare it to CS4. But all the Adobe sites only have Photoshop CS5 extended trials. Is there any safe downloading site where I can download Photoshop CS4?

If your Tools are not visible go to Windows dropdown and check Tools

I am using the clone tool in Photoshop CS4 and it is drawing lines all over the screen. I ALT-click for my source point and then go to draw and that it’s all whacked out and cloning and drawing lines
all over the place.

i find photoshop starts doing random stuff with all the different tools (especially the pen tool) when i use it for long periods of time so i restart it. maybe you should try that?

Make your own brush

1.Just draw or type the ‘asterisk’ in Photoshop(Black image on white BG)

2. selecting Edit>Define Brush Preset… from the menu.

When using screen brush mode in photoshop I have no problems using it on the layer the flatted colours are on set to multiply but when using it on a a new layer on normal it lightens the line art too. Too try and fix the problem I put the layer on multiply but then screen mode darkens the flatted colours instead of lightening them.
Is there a way to use screen brush mode and not lighten the line art or darken the flats on a new layer set on multiply?

Simple!
Duplicate your line art layer, and set it above your other layers, so that you are painting the multiply layer with screen brush mode beneath the line art.
