are Photoshop brushes able to be used with a public sign?

I’m planning on using some Photoshop brushes I downloaded to make a banner and some signs for my public website. Can I do it legally or are the designs protected under some kind of copyright law?

  1. You need to check the web site or the files that came with the brushes to determine what rights the designer has reserved. Many times the author simply asks to be credited somewhere on your site. You could also contact the author/designer of the brushes and ask for permission. In the absence of any information to the contrary, you must assume that they are copyrighted. The law says that copyright begins at the time of creation and there is no requirement that they carry any marking.

Be sure to keep a copy of whatever information you find or receive.
