Can you download version 6 brushes?

you may have a “off” version in that a release or update was made after the brush specs were released, version 6 should still work as most versions of PS are backward compatible with older plugins, brushes etc.

Q&A: photoshop elements 5.0 wont load more than 1 brush?

Question by MaCourtney22: photoshop elements 5.0 wont load more than 1 brush?
I downloaded some compatable .abr file brushes for my Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 program. I unzipped the files, and put them in the Program Files/ Adobe/ Elements 5.0/ Presets/ Brushes, but it still will only load one brush set at a time.

Is there any way to load all the brush sets onto the palette so I can see them when I am working?

Answer:

Answer by Mujer Alta
Sorry, only 1 set at a time is loaded. There are brush file viewers that will let you look at your installed brushes without the restriction of one set at a time. I think its abrView that will also let you make a new set (or sets) of your favorite brushes from all the brush sets you have loaded. (I downloaded these programs ages ago intending to try them out – actually I need to organize all my brush sets – but I got too busy and have never installed them.)

This is a popular brush viewer:
http://abrviewer.sourceforge.net/

And another:
http://www.easyelements.com/abrview.html

This is a relatively new kid on the block that’s developing a great reputation. It handles all kinds of things including brushes. It’s not free but it’s not expensive either.

Perhaps you are painting on a layer mask, rather than on a painting layer?

Maybe the blending mode of the brush or of the layer is wrong.

Question by Tali U: Photoshop brushes won’t work..HELP PLEASE !?
Okay my brushes use to work then now they don’t..they appear but i have to put to layers of paint on the background and it will be the colour of the first paint background (if that makes sense), not the colour ive selected? i don’t now whats the problem? any instructions, tips would be helpful?

Answer:

Answer by crsimon36
I think you know that the color used by the brush is dependent on the foreground color. To correct weird problems, reset the Preferences. Do this by pressing and hold the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys of launch of PS. When asked about deleting a file, reply YES. Let PS start. Close and reopen. It will take longer to re-start as it builds the preferences file.

Q&A: photoshop brushes wont load?

Question by lil goon: photoshop brushes wont load?
In adobe photoshop cs2, i download brushes off deviantart.com (on firefox)
and when i double click the downloaded file to open it, it opens in photoshop, but when i go to my brushes – the downloaded brushes are not there.
help?

Answer:

Answer by crsimon36
Double click on a downloaded brush file will not make it work, as you have found out. Place you newly downloaded brushes in the Brushes folder. Here is the path to that folder.
c:\program files\adobe\photoshop\adobe photoshop cs2\presets\brushes

You may have to “load” the brushes once you select the brush tool.

Q&A: Why won’t Photoshop download brushes anymore?

Question by Rachel B: Why won’t Photoshop download brushes anymore?
Well at first I used to not have a problem with downloading new brushes to photoshop, but now it’s saying that it’s not compatible with the version of photoshop that I have. I’ve tried different sites and different brushes (even brushes that were create with the same photoshop that I have- Photoshop 7), and I’ve even unistalled and reinstalled Photoshop. Help?

Answer:

Answer by P&G
I’ve never seen it happen before but I guess there’s a possibility that attempting to load brushes for the wrong version could have corrupted something. Try resetting the brushes.

Go to the brush engine Window>Brushes
Click the sideways triangle and Select Reset Brushes
