Did you press the wrong button on your mouse? If yes, then press the right button on your mouse to show up that foreground color in your picture.

Question by Jessie: Why are the brushes on my photoshop CS5 only showing up white when i try to use them?
is this a common problem? hahah because i cannot find anything on it!
Answer by A C
You might be in a different colour mode. Go to Image > Mode and check that you are using RGB or similar which supports colour. If this is not the issue check you are not in quick mask mode which you enter by pressing q and exit by pressing q.
Hope this helps
Question by 1selkie: how do I get rid of the white background around my image in Illustrator CS4?
I have a Photoshop image that I’m placing into Illustrator CS4. It keeps coming in with a white background. I’ve tried saving it a png, which I thought would preserve the transparency, but it’s not working. Any other ideas?
Answer by JustinSyn
Open your image in Photoshop, use magnetic lasso to cut it out. Save the selection made with lasso then open a new Illustrator file, set the background to transparent, finally, go to file, then select place, open up the selection you made from the image. The selection should be placed on a transparent background.

Question by Jeff: How do I set white as my background in Photoshop CS4?
So I just purchased Photoshop CS4 extended (vista X64) and when I create a new page it comes up in a very light tan color. Even in the color tab the white looks kind of tan even though the RGB settings are all the way to the right (at 255 each). I know that my monitor displays white because in all of the tool drop down boxes the background is perfectly white.
Answer by ☥♡☯☮✌
the background colour is separate from rgb color in layers,
check preferences, for new file and page setup,
Performance preferences: Transparency and Gamut
