I’ve got no Idea where to put them.
When I try to select them it says there not valid.

If you want to use a brush you already download you can have them sent directly to the Photoshop program file. It is usually C:/Program Files/Adobe/ Adobe Photoshop X then you would go to the Presets folder then where it says brushes. So in other words, C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop X/Presets/Brushes. X is the version of your photoshop program. If you need to download good quality brushes you should really try out http://www.deviantart.com/. They have all types of brushes, patterns, actions, styles, etc. All you need for photoshop.

Create your own brushes.

Start a new file…create the object you want to use as a brush or load a picture you want to use as a brush, go to Edit>Define Brush Preset.

Look in your brush menu and the newly defined brush should show up

What You can do is Click the Brush Tool, Click where you choose Your Brush, and than Click the Icon that Looks like a Play Button. That will Bring down a Menu with Categories, you can Look through them and Look for the Brush! Good Luck!

I paid big money and bought the CS4 Adobe suite and now find that the program only supports a screen DPI of 96 . Any higher, and the icons on the screen are clipped. Surely Adobe should have found out this fault before releasing such a professional program to the markert?

“DPI” doesn’t actually exist on screen: there are pixels only. And Windows, for some reason, considers that one logical inch on the screen equals 96 pixels. (Apple for many years used 72.)

If you need higher-res graphics, Adobe will happily direct you to Photoshop.

but it is an ABR. file and when I run the download it just takes me to the main start up page of photoshop. Any ideas how I can make it a .ZIP normal file so i can just extract the files ???

Place the *.abr files into:
Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop X\Presets\Brushes where X is the version number for your version of Photoshop.

Brushes created in Photoshop 7 or later will not work in earlier versions of Photoshop. Any Photoshop brushes should work in Photoshop 7 and later.

From the Brushes Palette in Photoshop, click the small arrow in the upper right corner of the palette, and choose load brushes. The brushes will be added to the current brushes.
