Question by ahrens1130: How to change size of rectangle tool in Photoshop CS4?
I’m using Photoshop CS4 and whenever I try to use the rectangle tool, it will only allow me to draw a rectangle about 50×50 pixels. I can go to edit> free transform to change the size after the fact, but how can I remove the restriction in the first place? This never used to happen, and only started within the last couple of weeks.

There are three modes for using the rectangle tool. This is one.
The three modes are:
1) Normal
2) Fixed ratio
3) Fixed size
Yours is set for fixed size with 50 x 50 being the selected size. Change the mode to normal or fixed ratio to see what else it can do.
RTFM for more information.
