Question by RADiOACtiVE: how to improve image quality when uploading picture to facebook from photoshop cs4?
i use a d3100 camera and photoshop to edit my pictures so the image quality is really good until i upload it to facebook then the quality is crap.

Answer by Colanth
The original image file has to be the same size as the display size on the site. Resizing degrades quality.

Check out Brusheezy. www.brusheezy.com Not only will there be lots of good brushes there, but there will be links to the websites of the folks who make the brushes. I’ve found lots of cool brushes through that site.
Another thing is you know you can make your own brushes? Check the Photoshop Help files for instructions, or just Google for a tutorial, there are several available.
Any brushes you download for Photoshop you may first have to unzip. Once you’ve done that, the brush files will have an extension of .abr. Find your Photoshop program folder, and inside that is a folder called Presets. Inside the Presets folder you will find the Brushes folder. Drag the new brush file there. When you reopen Photoshop you will be able to access the new brushes.
Note: you DOWNLOAD from the Internet TO your computer. You INSTALL a program or a brush or other files. You UPLOAD FROM your computer TO a website (you upload photos to photobucket, for example, you download brushes to your computer to install in the brush folder in Photoshop.)
