multiple colors in photoshop brush presets?

Question by Tracy D: multiple colors in photoshop brush presets?
How do I make my brush presets colorful? I know how to choose single colors, from the color picker, but I see a lot of brush available online that are multi-colored, or gradient. How is this done? Thank you, Tracy
ok I’m downloading tons of them, it’s quite addicting, but they all download in black and white. When I go use my downloaded brush presets, I can of course choose a color for them but my question is, how can I use a brush preset in multiple colors? For example, say I use a simple daisy shaped brush. It’s in black and white; just an outline. Now I want to color the inside pink and the petals yellow and the stem green. How do I do that?

Click on the layer your image is on, in the layers palette, click on the layer mask icon to add a layer mask. Click on the layer mask to select it. Click Image > Adjustments > Invert. Your image will temporarily disappear, and the layer mask will turn black. Choose your paint brush, set the required size, set foreground colour to white. Click once on the image with the paint brush.

It’s a pretty great site. They have a lot of free tutorials and some presets you can download. I’m not sure if you are new to AfterEffects or not but you can learn some great new tricks from their tutorials.

What would happen to the brushes and presets on my Photoshop CS2 when I upgrade to CS4?

I’m planning on getting Photoshop CS4 soon. Right now, I have CS2 and it’s full of presets such as styles, gradients, actions, brushes, etc. If I install CS4 and uninstall CS2, will my preset files from CS2 automatically be transported to CS4?
