How do I stop Photoshop CS4 from creating a new layer each time I use the line tool?

Question by Veemon: How do I stop Photoshop CS4 from creating a new layer each time I use the line tool?
Each time I use the line tool, a new layer is created. How can I stop this? No settings were changed.

Thanks in advance.

the only way i can think to resolve this is if you press [ctrl] + E, which is the shortcut to stick the layer to the layer below it, so once your happy with the line you just merge it to the layer below and continue.

i hope this works out for you, good luck 🙂

photoshop brush for line art coloring?

Question by ★trust&believe★: photoshop brush for line art coloring?
where can i download a brush that is suitable in coloring my line art?

Answer by amybeader
Photoshop already has a lot of brushes that will work just fine for you. What you have to do is learn to play with the brushes and settings (called Brush Dynamics). Also you need to use Layers; scan in your line art, clean it up, keep it on its own layer, then create a new layer for each color you want to use. Experiment with layer blending modes to get different effects. You don’t need to download any special brushes to color your line art.

(In photoshop) How do I use the screen brush mode and have it not affect the line art?

Question by lilboiibubblez: (In photoshop) How do I use the screen brush mode and have it not affect the line art?
When using screen brush mode in photoshop I have no problems using it on the layer the flatted colours are on set to multiply but when using it on a a new layer on normal it lightens the line art too. Too try and fix the problem I put the layer on multiply but then screen mode darkens the flatted colours instead of lightening them.
Is there a way to use screen brush mode and not lighten the line art or darken the flats on a new layer set on multiply?

Simple!
Duplicate your line art layer, and set it above your other layers, so that you are painting the multiply layer with screen brush mode beneath the line art.

I have actually gotten this brush before, so I know it’s possible, I’m just at a loss as to how I did it. :/
If anyone could shed some light on how to get this brush, I’m be very greatful.

Thanks! 🙂

Does anybody know where to get Photoshop Brushes styled like Affliction Clothing line?

I’m designing a T-shirt, or a T-shirt idea and i can’t seem to find any brushes that are exactly what I’m looking for. The few that i did find were for CS versions. If there are any places you know of with 4.0 or higher versions, PLEASE let me know. Thanks

how do i take a scanned sketching and make line art on photoshop cs2?

and turn it into thos animme pictures
i know how to color it because i have colored other people’s line art before

the end result should end up anime-ish like
http://l-a-b-o.deviantart.com/art/Color08-55116850
or http://autumndark.deviantart.com/art/Primadonna-73046826

Photoshop CS2 help – Draw a line?

Hey – it looks like my “line” tool won’t function properly anymore; after I draw a line, it looks like, it’s just masking the background (but masking is turned off). For the meantime, I have been using the brush with the Shift key but I want to know if I set something up so my line tool won’t work like it should.

Thanks in advance
Everthing else Looks fine (i.e. when I draw a sqaure it looks fine but the line style of it is still looking like it’s attempting to mask the background)
