I bought Adobe CS4 yesterday and just installed Adobe Illustrator CS4 onto my mac and moved it from the finder to the desktop. When I opened the Illustrator, the toolbar and color palette were missing and were not available underneath the tab “Window”. Why and what can I do to get the toolbar and color palette back?

You probably pressed the tab key, so just press it again. Or go to Window and click on workspace.

Corel.com has some trial…I don’t think they will work in any normal photoshop, I think they just work in Corel. But you could try it.

In CS4 when you save the project, in the save as window under file type use the drop drop down menu to choose an earlier version.

Illustrator comes with plenty of fonts. Im surprised that you cant find one you like from the selection. As for shapes, you can make your own in Illustrator!

According to Adobe, the Mac version of illustrator CS5 runs on OS X Leopard (10.5) and Snow Leopard (10.6). If you have OS X 10.4 or older, you really do need to Upgrade OS X, first.

It’s nearly impossible to find older versions of Illustrator, the TRIAL version, or otherwise, AND, for OS X, too.

depends on the versions you are using. The older versions the brushes were pixel based but they may work in the newer versions as they are vector based now.

However, if I click on the eps or ai file from explorer, it opens file. By the way, Internet Explorer launches the Adobe illustrator CS4 application when I click on the ai and eps links.

As you … Know, Adobe Flash and Adobe Illustrator have a special brush, which allows you to draw and it automatically… Becomes smooth… i don’t know what to call it. I would love to know how to get the very same brush into photoshop. (Do note, it’s not a brush image itself, it’s like the brush tool itself.)

Photoshop doesn’t quite have a similar tool. The closest thing you could try is the regular Pen tool, along with the Edit > Stroke function.

Flash and Illustrator are “vector editors”, which use complex math to stretch an image without loss of quality. Photoshop is a “bitmap editor”, though it has vector tools like the Pen.
