Question by Kelly: How to convert Adobe InDesign CS4 document to PDF?
I have a file using InDesign CS4 that needs to be sent to my professor who has the Adobe InDesign CS2 and he said that he needs it to be converted to PDF.
How do I do this?

depends on the versions you are using. The older versions the brushes were pixel based but they may work in the newer versions as they are vector based now.

No problem. Going from CS2 to CS4 will not wipe out your files. Your files will not be effected as they are, most likely, in folders outside of CS2. Only if you have downloaded a bunch of plugins, brushes, styles, etc. and placed then in with those that came with CS2 are you likely to lose anything. It is better to place those things in their separate folder and with Preferences, point PS to that folder.
There is no “upgrade” to a higher version of PS. Each version is a standalone program. I have five versions of Elements and two versions of PS installed on the same compujter and have never lost anything.

How do you convert In Design CS4 into CS3? We try-ed to convert from CS4 to CS3, it appeared it had worked, when partner try-ed to open on MAC it crashed?
We originally concerted file on PC, since we created file on PC would this cause file to crash when try-ed to open on MAC?

Documents created in InDesign CS4 will not open in CS3 because the plugins are different. There may be a different way to save it, or you could export it as a PDF. However, CS3 documents will open in CS4.

I’m downloading brushes.. but they all seem to be made by Elements or CS2 and I cant use them on Photoshop7. anyone know if it’s possible and how to convert them to work for PS7?

No can do. Adobe Photoshop is not my software of choice. I would work with Paint Shop Pro. Despite all the hype Adobe gets, I think PSP is a hundred times better. Adobe is simply a commercial success. It has no real value.

My index page has a banner up top and a horizontal navigation bar underneath then two equal columns below. I’m not sure that even matters. Don’t waste your time trying to make a web site to fit monitor sizes. That is NOT what you need to worry about. It is the browser’s viewing area being used by the User. You can have the same resolution on a 10-inch screen as on a 22-inch screen. The browser’s viewing area will be different for both in most cases. The one with the smaller screen will run their browser maximized. Many others with a 22-inch screen may run the browser window smaller so as to have more apps open and in view.

Someone burned me a dvd with photos on it, they are in the form of IMG because they selected “DVD” when they burned the photos onto the disc. Raw is a format that comes directly from the sensor of a digital camera. It basically allows you to process the image at a later time from a software program. It’s sort of like a digital negative from which you can develop a digital image. A RAW file that has been down converted to another format, will not benifit from being re-up converted to RAW since it has already suffered bit depth loss.
If you want RAW file results, it would be my recommendation that you have that someone you mention save the RAW files as DATA on a DVD and send them to you again. If That’s not an option then the next best thing would be to convert them to another format. You can do a Google or Yahoo search to find a program that will convert to a format that PS can open. Most of them are demo’s but hopefully this is a one time problem.

New to CS4 and do not know what an “action” is nor how it works but read I could use it to convert multiple raw images to jpeg or tiff without having to open each photograph.

Use Adobe Bridge. You can do it in a batch at a time.
