Just to clear things up not creating brushes saving brushes from websites.

My mac always saves the files as Zips (And my .zip has never worked) I know it’s possible to save them on my computer, I have I just forgot how. How would I save the brush so I can use it?

You need to extract the .abr files from the zip

then put the .abr file you’ve downloaded into the folder /Users/{username}/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5/Presets/Brushes

Then restart Photoshop.

If you want to use a brush you already download you can have them sent directly to the Photoshop program file. It is usually C:/Program Files/Adobe/ Adobe Photoshop X then you would go to the Presets folder then where it says brushes. So in other words, C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop X/Presets/Brushes. X is the version of your photoshop program. If you need to download good quality brushes you should really try out http://www.deviantart.com/. They have all types of brushes, patterns, actions, styles, etc. All you need for photoshop.

Are you putting the .abr files in the correct folder?

c:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop X/Presets/Brushes (where X is the version you are using).

if you select brush (it should be on the left hand-side of your screen) you can select the Brush diameter, mode, opacity and the flow that it comes out. once you select it, you can choose the colour you want on the bottom of you left-hand toolbar. you need to state what version of photoshop your’re using for better help!

She’s using a brush to put the diamonds on there.
&I reeeeeally want that brush but I can’t find id ANYWHERE and she hasn’t reponded to my query on where she got it.

That isn’t a diamond brush. If you look at the layers, there is a blue layer background that has the diamonds on it.

There are 3 layers.

The top layer is the woman outlined.

The middle layer is the blue vignette with diamond shapes in it. It looks like the outline mask was expanded and used to delete the blue background so that it looks like the woman is outlined in blue.

The bottom layer is the original photo.

Are you sure the GIF files are actually brushes. Often times the downloads include GIF or JPEG images with examples of the brushes.

So, if they do look like actual brushes and they really are GIFs, you can’t install them, but you can make them into brushes.

Open the GIF in Photoshop. It needs to have a transparent background for this to work. If it doesn’t, you could try unlocking the layer and using a selection tool to delete the background, though at that point, you’re probably better off just searching online for new brushes. Then select all and go to the Edit pulldown menu –> Define Brush Preset. Name it and hit okay – it will then show up in your brushes.
