1. open my computer
2. click on your c drive (or whatever your main drive is)
3. select users and click on your user profile
4. find the program folder that says photoshop
5. open folder and find “brushes”
6. open folder and move brushes where you want them

it’s usually preset to be in alphabetical/numerical order so try right clicking the folder to see if you can change the option…u can also use these steps to add new brushes like eye lashes contact lenses weave jewels sparkles etc….i use deviantart.com to see examples of what i mean u can check out my videos on youtube where i show how to use the lash and contact brush my youtube user name is daamn005

Q&A: Why can’t I open my downloaded brushes on adobe photoshop?

Question by kirut: Why can’t I open my downloaded brushes on adobe photoshop?
I’m having real problems with my photoshop brushes that I’m downloading off the internet. Normally I download the file, open it in Winzip, unzip it, then extract the file into my brushes folder and when I open it in Photoshop it comes up.
I haven’t done it for a while, and when I went to do it a minute ago it won’t work. The brushes I have extracted don’t appear in the loading menu, when I open to folder?

The files are saved as PNG images, which isn’t correct is it?
Why is this and how can I change this? It’s on every site I donwload them from?

Is it an ABR file? Photoshop uses that format for brushes.

Where can I find any clothing folds photoshop brushes?

Question by Evelyn: Where can I find any clothing folds photoshop brushes?
I would really like to use some brushes to create folds on clothes in photoshop. I can’t find anywhere. If there is someone who knows where can I download or a person that is willing to create some brushes for me, I would be grateful. I searched all over the internet and I found no free downloads of such brushes. What I more exactly need looks something like this:

Thank you.
I am using deviantart.com for 3 years and believe me that I know the site very well and I can not find there what I need. I searched the internet seriously, even submitted requests for such kind of brushes but nothing helped so far …

I am looking for some Photoshop Crest brushes that contain the Crest Shape (Shield Shape) and the leaves on the side, which you see commonly in awards and memorials or on plaques. I know Illustrator has a limited number of this type of art but none specifically what i want. Any idea where I can find this online? need to locate it ASAP. Thanks!

Q&A: Photoshop and adding brushes?

Question by Brendon: Photoshop and adding brushes?
How do I add brushes that I downloaded from the internet to Photoshop cs3?

Answer:

Answer by Ganal
I use Photoshop CS2 and this is how I add brushes. I create a file and save all my brushes there. Then open photoshop. Right click while in the brush tool. There will be a Triangle up at the top right hand corner, click that. That will then show a drop down menu. Go up and find “load brushes”. Click that and then you can go find your folder or where ever you have the downloaded brushes. The brushes should then appear at the bottom of the brushes should then appear.

Scanning Images to turn into Photoshop Brushes?

Question by Jammin’: Scanning Images to turn into Photoshop Brushes?
Hi!

I scanned images that I drew in pencil with a Lexmark scanner, saved them as JPEG with the built in scanner program it comes with. I was going to use them in Photoshop to turn them into brushes. Every time I do that, however, the “DEFINE BRUSH PRESET” is “unclickable”. It is washed out so I cannot click on it.

If you scan hand drawn images, to make them into brushes can you tell me what I am doing wrong, or what your procedure is that works?

I’m using CS4, but I do have CS5 Master Collection Installed.

Thanks!
MOZ – I tried it and it still isn’t working? Any other ideas?

Answer:

Answer by MOZ
You have to make them into PSDs.
Open your .jpgs, and then duplicate the image (Image>Duplicate). Now you can make a brush preset from your duplicated image, which is not a .jpg.
