Can photoshop brushes be used in paint shop pro?

Question by lillith: Can photoshop brushes be used in paint shop pro?
I have version 12. If so, is there a website with a tutorial on how to use them?
Thanks!

Answer:

Answer by Mujer Alta
There are some wonderful Photoshop brushes out there and, unfortunately, they can’t be used directly in Paintshop … but they can be converted and then used. Also, some brush designers offer “image files” along with their abr (photoshop brush) files. You can open the images in Paintshop and, if they’re not already PNG or GIF files with transparent backgrounds, use the Magic Wand Tool to select and delete their white backgrounds. Then use File>Export>Custom Brush. Give your new brush a name and click OK.

Here are the instructions to convert brushes along with the link for the abrViewer. It’s not difficult.

Can you upgrade to Photoshop CS4 straight from elements?

Question by Practically Prudent: Can you upgrade to Photoshop CS4 straight from elements?
I received an email from adobe a couple hours ago and they’re saying I can get it for 300 as an upgrade to elements. Hmm… I thought upgrades only worked with the parent programs? Anyone ever use the upgrade package of a Photoshop CS from Photoshop elements?

Heck if this works, I know what I’ll be purchasing soon.
Yes I think they’re “lying” to me. I’m a disillusioned cynic that doesn’t believe anything from “the man.”

Companies like adobe aren’t infallible, I asked because of this. If you’ve nothing to contribute to the actual question, you can troll elsewhere.
Thanks rainbow, that’s exactly the info I was wondering about. It is indeed odd that the site shows the software costing that much. I’ll definitely be purchasing CS4 through the email adobe sent me, perhaps it’s a long time customer deal. I’ll definitely call and verify before I purchase it. Thanks again!
Oh and to the one that recommended pirated software, all I can say is, wow.

You think Adobe is lying to you? They are offering an upgrade from Elements to CS4. Why would you not believe them?

Photoshop and brushes??

Question by hellokittykat9: Photoshop and brushes??
I want to use brushes for graphic design on photoshop, but I’m so lost! How do they work?? I’ve seen some nice graphics and I need to know how they’re made so pretty. Do you just use the brushes like stamps or what? HELP!

Answer:

Answer by joannaserah
No, not just like stamps. They really are like brushing over the picture area with your mouse.
The answers are too long to put here, you really need to get a book about it. Check your local library. Often they have computer books. Definitely your local Colleges.
Or, just search online for photoshop tutorials.

How do you reset all the settings in Photoshop CS4?

Question by camboy8: How do you reset all the settings in Photoshop CS4?
I must have done some things in photoshop that I can’t seem to fix. So the only thing I can think of is either reinstalling. But before I do Is there any way to just revert to the default settings so I don’t have the go through the trouble in a reinstall
I should probably mention I use a mac. :0

Answer:

Answer by Assassin
Here is how:

1. First, hold down all three Ctrl+Alt+Shift buttons
2. Now “while keeping those button held,” simply open Photoshop or a file that opens with Photoshop
3. As Photoshop loads, you should get a prompt asking if you would like to “delete the Photoshop settings file”, Click yes.
You should now have a fresh slate with all of the settings returned to their default.
